Calling All Louisiana Teen Artivists: Imagine Our Next Adventure

The Spring 2024 Teen Artivist Contest is now open!

Our new team of teen and adult creatives are hard at work developing the next chapter of the Trinity City Universe, and they could use your help.

We want to hear our teen readers’ ideas for Issue #2:  What’s next for Rowan, Marcus and Blake as they grow up and fight for social justice in “New New Orleans” in 2078?

Enter your idea in any format you wish – words, pictures, video, whatever — for a chance to win a $50 cash card and a professional art mentoring session!

Morgan Prevost, one of TC's youth artists, drawing Rowan, the character she helped create.

All you have to do is:

  1. Read Trinity City #1

  2. Choose one of the three main characters’ stories from Issue #1 to inspire you (Rowan, Marcus, or Blake)

  3. Respond with a VISUAL ARTWORK and/or a PIECE OF WRITING of your own creation.  Show and tell us:  What happens to them next?

Your artwork or writing can take any form!  Judging will be done by you, our community of readers, based upon three elements:

  • Most interesting concept

  • Best storytelling

  • Best writing/illustration technique

DEADLINE: May 8, 2024, at 11:59pm CST.

The winners of our last contest, Emma Lapene and Vivian Bravo, receiving their prizes!

  • The 4 top teen artivists will receive a $50 cash card and a one-hour mentoring session with a professional artist or writer.

  • All four will be published and promoted in the Trinity City blog

  • Free TCU merch for everyone who enters (subject to availability)

NOTE: Applicants under age 18 need to identify an adult family member or supporter to co-sign with them.

We can't wait to see your work!
