Trinity City Arts began peer editing for Trinity City Comics Issue #2 in December 2025 with students from Morris Jeff High School. The sessions with students were nothing short of inspiring. Alex, co-writer of Trinity City Comic Issue #2, and a sophomore psychology major at Paul Quinn College, shares his experience.
Recently, as a peer educator with TCArts, I had the chance to interact with some Morris Jeff seniors while they were helping with editing issue two of Trinity City Comics, and the experience really stood out to me. What struck me most was the energy the students brought into the space—genuine, positive, and effortless. They didn’t just show up to do a task; they showed up with enthusiasm and curiosity.

What I appreciated was how welcoming they were from the very beginning. There was no awkwardness, no hesitation. They treated the project—and everyone involved—with a level of respect and openness that made the environment feel supportive and collaborative. You could tell they were invested, not just in the work, but in the people around them.
It was refreshing to see young people with that kind of spirit. Their willingness to help, to listen, and to jump into something meaningful reminded me of the power of community and connection. Being around them made the experience more enjoyable and showed what can happen when students are given space to lead, contribute, and engage with real purpose.
