We are so proud to announce that our own Trinity City Youth Organizer hrilina♡ (that is her professional name, including the heart, remember it!) is one of 9 young people to win a Bloomburg Youth Climate Action Grant for the City of New Orleans.

Last week, hrilina♡ was joined by Project Co-Director Lisa D’Amour, her mom Pooja, Mayor LaToya Cantrell, community organizations and the other youth project leaders to announce the winning projects.

Through her project entitled “Water Wonderful World,” a team of young artists will create a grades 1-3-level coloring book that raises awareness about climate change and youth leadership in New Orleans.

With 84 percent of youth around the world reporting that they are worried climate change threatens people and the planet, this initiative grants young people the opportunity to get directly involved in tackling this global issue. New Orleans joined the Fund alongside 99 other cities from around the world, which together span 38 countries across six continents, representing over 62 million residents.

To read the full list of amazing New Orleans projects, go to the City of New Orleans Press Release.
